Even while inheriting the form of the VADER, the low-volume design makes it easier to exhale into the mask for equalization and mask clearing.

Divers with smaller facial structures may find the standard VADER to be slightly on the larger side. VADER fanette incorporates an overall reduction in size to accommodate for those with smaller facial structures.
Performance
Leakless System
Water is most likely to flood the nose and mouth area when gaps open in the seal between mask and skin. This may happen, for example, if the mask rides up on the face, and if leaking occurs at the cheeks when you are adding a mouthpiece or at the the corners of the mouth when you grin underwater. Here, to avoid compromising the seal when your facial muscles move, the mask form is optimized to maintain fit and feel.
High-Performance Lens
UV420 CUT AR Amber Lens
UV420 CUT AR lenses offer protection against UV & HEV rays preventing deterioration of Lutein (responsible for protecting the eye tissues from sunlight damage). The amber coloring enhances visibility by increasing contrast to better see objects underwater.
Super Clear Lens
Enables greater clarity than standard glass. Objects are seen more clearly. By rigorously removing impurities from the glass, light transmittance is maximized. Skirt reflections on the lens are also minimized with a clear silicone mask.
AR (Anti-Reflection)
Conventional lenses reflect a significant portion of light, resulting in a lower light transmittance of about 92%. UV420 AR lenses, with single-side AR coating, allow roughly 95% of light to pass through. This ensures a clearer and brighter vision, more akin to the naked eye.
Anti-reflection is also an important safety feature, facilitating ease of eye contact when underwater.
UV420CUT Lens Function
Protects eyes from UV rays (up to 400nm),and HEV light (400-420nm), that contribute to oxidative stress and deterioration of lutein*.

*People say that lutein acts like natural sunglasses. It is present as a pigment in the retina, the crucial part of the eye that receives light and lets you see. Here, helping to prevent cumulative macular degeneration, it blocks harmful light and has an anti-oxidant effect. Lutein is destroyed when it absorbs harmful light. Its presence in the retina is limited and, because the body cannot make lutein, it can only be replaced by eating lutein-rich food.

Comparing Orange and White (LED) Light Effects in a Tunnel
Orange light makes objects more visible by in increasing the contrast of shadowed edges. White light increases overall visibility by generally lighting everything more brightly. As in the orange-lit tunnel, a UV420 amber lens increases contrast.
